Lyon star, Houssem Aouar, insists that he is happy with his current club.
The midfielder failed to execute a move to Arsenal before deadline day. Despite this, Aouar maintains there are no regrets with what unfolded.
The Frenchman reportedly agreed personal terms with the Gunners yet had more than two Arsenal bids rejected by Lyon. Mikel Arteta therefore turned his attention to Thomas Partey who recently joined in a much anticipated move.
Arsenal will likely re-visit their interest in Aouar come January when a move is again possible. However, the 22-year-old says that he is happy at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais for the meantime.
“I spoke a lot with Juninho,” Aouar told French outlet, Telefoot.
“He shows me his confidence everyday, it’s a real pleasure to work with him.”
“To stay here for another season, or more, with him, it’s a great pride.”
“I’m happy to stay in Lyon. It’s my city, my club. It’s a great place to represent Olympique Lyonnais.”
“It wasn’t necessarily Arsenal or nothing else, even though in the end it was basically that. I have to make a decision and I am happy to stay here.”
