Manchester United have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Edinson Cavani on a free transfer.
The 33-year-old Uruguayan left Paris Saint Germain as a free agent last season and is now suggested to be undergoing a medical with United.
The deal is understood to be agreed over a one year term with the option to extend for another 12 months as Manchester United continue their hunt for superstar forwards.
Despite not being United’s ideal summer signing, Edinson Cavani will be a welcome addition at Old Trafford given his formidable record in front of goal. He is PSG’s highest ever goal scorer with 200 goals.
It is reported that personal terms have already been agreed with ongoing negotiations continuing over the players agent fees. According to Fabrizio Romano the fees will reach near €10m.
Reports continue on Alex Telles, Ousmane Dembele, and Jadon Sancho’s future with Manchester United. Although, Dembele and Sancho deals are becoming less likely to eventuate for United.
The rumors are being criticized by many as nothing more than a panic buy, being compared to deals for Radamel Falcao, Angel Di Maria, and Alexis Sanchez. All players who struggled dearly in a United shirt.
