According to TyC Sports journalist, Cesar Luis Merlo, Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr has submitted a €5m bid for Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil.
The bid will attempt to keep the playmaker in Saudi Arabia for a minimum of two years with the Gunners supposedly now interested in offloading him.
Ozil has recently made it clear that he is not yet eager to leave Arsenal and is adamant to see out the remainder of his contract in North London.
His £350,000 p/w wage makes him one of Premier League’s highest earners but his lack of appearances is costing Arsenal dearly. The German is consistently excluded from match-day squads indicating that he is no longer a part of Mikel Arteta’s plans.
According to the Daily Mail, Al-Nassr has attempted to terminate Ozil’s contract with Arsenal. It is reported that Arsenal have however refused to pay the £13m required to fulfil his the remainder of his contract.
Ozil has again been left out of Arsenal’s Europa League squad and it is believed that the same will happen when the Gunners face Manchester City at the weekend. Arsenal’s handling of a player who has publicly expressed his love for the club is baffling. A decision is expected to be made shortly.
There is no doubt that Mesut Ozil remains one of the worlds best players but is still remains uncertain what exactly his future holds.
