Luis Suarez has spoken out regarding Lionel Messi’s emotional outburst after the Uruguayan completed his move to league rivals, Atletico Madrid.
It is no secret that both players enjoyed a close relationship at Barcelona after several years and triumphs together.
After a magnificent spell with Liverpool, Luis Suarez joined Barcelona in 2014. He built a prolific partnership with Lionel Messi and that relationship blossomed off the pitch where the two became extremely close.
Luis Suarez became Barcelona’s 3rd highest ever goal scorer in his 6 years with the club. Yet, he was deemed as surplus to requirements by Ronald Koeman who has turned the club on its head since his recent arrival. Barcelona ended up losing one of their greatest ever stars for a mere €6m.
Lionel Messi recently expressed his frustration with Barcelona after the club had broken multiple promises to the forward. The Spanish club have denied the Argentine’s much wanted departure for at least another year.
His resentment for the club grew with Barcelona’s treatment of his close friend, Luis Suarez. He proceeded to express his feelings over social media last month.

Suarez has now opened up on Messi’s outburst and says that he can understand his feelings.
“I was not surprised about Messi because I know him too well, I knew the pain he felt, as I did,” as quoted by the Express.
“He felt they kicked me out of the club because of form. There were other ways to do things correctly with me.”
“They were six long years and bothered him too. I see him as a friend and he knows how badly we suffered.”
“My family wanted to see me happy. There are some strange things at Barcelona like sending you to train separately because you were not considered for the game.“
“Those kinds of things made me bad and my family saw me affected, so they encouraged me to take the opportunity. When Atletico came looking for me, Ididn’t hesitate for a single moment.”
“Obviously I have to get used to various things, but I feel very happy at Atletico.”
Suarez was treated unfairly given everything he had done in a Barcelona shirt. The forward scored on his debut for Atletico Madrid and just recently scored in Uruguays 2-1 win over Chile. It is evident that age is just a number for one of the games greatest ever strikers.
